Sister Teresita

Sister Teresita

COPPROME Orphanage was a dream to Sister Tere for many years. She wanted to create shelter for children that were in  poverty in El Progreso, Honduras. With members of the community and Sister's dream, COPPROME was made into her reality 27 years ago.

COPPROME is a home to over 45 children ages from 2-21 years old. Children that are brought into COPPROME are no longer being abuse, neglect, or abandoned. These kids are finally able to be children in the loving arms of the caregivers and the volunteers of Friends of Los Niños. At COPPROME, the kids are provided three meals per day, education which includes an English class, and extra tutoring sessions. COPPROME and Friends of Los Niños gives these children support, love and a chance to succeed.

This is all made possible through the amazing organizations that support COPPROME, which includes Friends of Los Niños.

The joy of being a sponsor

The children of COPPROME love receiving gifts from their sponsors, such as letters, pictures, fun items that fit their age, and clothing. Oh, and how could I forget soccer balls and shoes!

I serve in El Progreso, Honduras twice a year. I travel with an amazing organization, Friends of Los Niños. Before my first trip to Honduras in 2015, if you looked up the definition of lost, you’d find my name. The children at COPPROME gave me a way to love and serve. When I am at COPPROME, I don’t think I could smile any bigger. When I talk about the children, I can feel myself light up. True living starts with giving. Honduras saved me. Now I am on a mission to continuously save them. With your help.
