This morning we visited Mt. Olives. Mt. Olives is a small village that is far away from civilization surrounded by beautiful huge palm trees. We brought some of the young children with us from Copprome, which I think is a great idea to remind them that they are so blessed to be at Copprome. We went to visit Mt. Olives to distribute shoes that wonderful people donated to Friends of Los Ninos. I was going into the village knowing it was going to be hard living which it was but the people there were filled with so much love. Each person had a huge smile on their face to see that we had arrived. Today I will let the images do the talking.
Later that night we went to a restaurant named Tejas. This is when we saw for the second night in a row three siblings that used to be children at Copprome. It broke all of our hearts seeing them at 9:00pm on the streets. We saw them again a couple days later at the same place around the same time. The children are so beautiful and outgoing! I am happy to say that we received an email from Katrina the Sunday we got back saying that the children were going back to Copprome. It was such a relief to finally know that they will be safe. God is so good.
This day I was way out of my comfort zone. I enjoyed it and it's definitely something I could get used to. See you all tomorrow! xo
