So this trip I got to do something very special... I photographed each individual child of COPPROME along with people who work at COPPROME through out the week we were there. The children needed updated photos for Friends of Los Ninos website. These photos will be used to help these amazing children be sponsored by people like us. This week I am going to do my best at introducing you to every single child. There is 51 one of them so bear with me. The photos of the children are not in any specific order... just whatever child was ready to be photographed. I must put a ‘Thank You’ in here to sweet Marvin who helped me for the first 10 minutes…until he got sidetracked. But I swear he had every full intention of helping me the whole time. Haha!
While I was taking head shots of the children, the rest of the women were in the office giving one by one Padrino (sponsor) gifts to the children. So there was excitement all over the orphanage. The new children have never experienced Christmas gifts before, so their reaction to receiving gifts were very heart warming. There were smiles all over the place.
I only got to be in the office to see sweet Graciela and Joseph's reactions to receiving their gifts. All I did was cry. It was probably a good thing I was only in there for two openings. Haha!
As I have said before, sponsoring a child is the most rewarding and fun experiences. It is even more fun when you are very involved. The children want to hear from their sponsors. I have witnessed it on how excited they got when it was their turn to Skype their sponsors. (There is someone there to translate if the language barrier is a problem.) It's such a special moment. If you are a sponsor, I promise you that the child you sponsor wants to hear from you. I know it is easy to get caught up in your every day life, but it isn't hard to take a few minutes out of a week to feel some warm and fuzzy feelings in your heart. I promise you'll feel them. They want and need your love. It is a very special relationship that everyone should experience.
The photos below explain more to why I love my Joseph so much! Haha!
