Day 7 | Our last day...

I woke up this morning sick to my stomach. Today was our last day with these children... and I may or may not still be car sick from that van ride yesterday. We were going to Tela Beach to reminisce on the week and everything we experienced. With this trip being all women, you know there were plenty of tears.

Even though I was emotionally prepared for this trip, I still had heart breaking moments while we visited the villages. This trip was more about the relationships with the children of COPPROME. Some of the children didn't recognized me at first until I put my camera around my neck. Knowing that the children recognized me made my heart so warm. I had kids all week running up to me with Polaroids from my trip in June that I took of them. That was the most heart warming feeling that these children cherish photographs. Sometimes I doubt myself in the career choice I made, but then I come to Honduras and these children are my inspiration. I never knew photographs could mean so much. They recharge me to keep doing what I love... It's easy to get lost in this crazy life but these kids bring back down to Earth. I thank God for them daily.

The children got to dress all nice for the Christmas party we are throwing for them that night. We had pizza and all kinds of presents for them!

Joseph walked out of the boys area with so much confidence. He knew he was looking sharp. I seriously started crying because he looked absolutely handsome! Haha!

IT'S PARTY TIME!

God bless you, COPPROME. I never imagined that you would have this big of an impact on me, but my goodness, you do. When I am at COPPROME, it's a happiness that you cannot beat. These children put such a huge smile on my face. They motivate me to be the best person I can be. I can't wait to have my feet on the ground of COPPROME again! 344 more days... but who's counting?

I am excited to say that sweet Graciela will be coming to Texas in April. The Knights of Columbus, Father Paul, and I have joined forces to have a dinner and silent auction for when she visits. I will have more information soon!

I hope you all enjoyed my week in Honduras! (: Merry Christmas everyone!
